In the mid-nineteen sixties, the first watch cases made out of plastics reached the market. Delrin, Polyamide, Polyacette, Hostaform, graphite and Polystyrol were commonly used as material for watchcases. This innovative use of material resulted in a surprising variety of forms and colours, that could not be achieved with previously used conventional materials. The sheer infinite variety in colour and form in addition to reasonable prices are undoubtedly an incentive to start an enjoyable collection. The watches depicted illustrate all possible uses of plastic in a watch.
