At the 1973 Basle Fair, Ronda of Lausen, Switzerland, showed the Ronda Quartz 32 kHz with a stepping motor, a quartz crystal and a CMOS IC made by Motorola. The second model had a smaller quartz crystal. The sale of the watch started one year later.
