The oscillations of the balance wheel are synchronised by the pulses from the quartz crystal. Thus, the balance wheel drives the wheel train.
The TS µ-Quartz (mu-quartz), caliber 7743, is presented in solid gold by Corum of Switzerland, at the Basle Fair of 1972. The TS µ-Quartz was developed by Bernard Golay S.A. (J.C. Berney and A. Guignard), Lausanne, Record Watch S.A.,Tramelan and Les Assortiments Réunies (R. Dubois), Le Locle in co-operation with RCA, USA, who manufactured the microchip.
